Blooming Wishes

Good Morning!  Today I have a card to share with you using Floral Fusion from Deasy Designs.  I love that there is a mix of large and small flowers in this set.
I wanted the flowers and leaves to have a water colored look, so I embossed them in white and colored them with re-inkers.  After I cut them out, I adhered them with different types of adhesive foam to add dimension.  For the background, I used several different colors of misting sprays by October Afternoon and Studio Calico.  I finished off the card by embossing the sentiment and adding a few stitches to bring in more yellow.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Paper Smooches Picture Perfect Challenge

Hi and welcome back for another Paper Smooches Picture Perfect challenge!
Here is our inspirational picture for this challenge:
I chose to go with the floral theme and used 3 panels to mimic the inspirational photo.  The flowers are all from Paper Smooches' Friendly Flowers set. (The color scheme was inspired by some bedding I saw in a Pottery Barn Teen catalog.)  Here is what I came up with:
We would love to have you play along with us this week! The winner of the challenge will receive a $30 credit to the Paper Smooches online store!  For all the details and to add your card to the challenge, head on over to the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge blog.  But first, check out what these lovely ladies made using this week's inspirational photo:

Fly with Me!

(If you are looking for my Paper Smooches Sparks card, scroll down the post below!)

Hi! Today I am sharing a card I made using the pilot image from Aero Boy by Deasy Designs. This stamp set is great for making cards for kids, but I also think you can go a little vintage with this set, too, since the pilots all have the 1920's feel with their leather helmets.  I decided to use the cracked glass technique to make my main image look like an old photo.  To achieve this look, first stamp your image, color it, and ink the edges of the cardstock. Next, cover your entire panel with versamark and  then clear embossing powder. Heat the embossing powder and then cover the panel with versamark and clear embossing powder again- repeat several times. Last, pop your embossed panel in the freezer for a few minutes.  When you get it out, start bending it slightly in several places and it will crack!  To finish off my card, I added the "Fly with me" sentiment (also from Aero Boy) on a die cut banner (Papertrey Ink) and paired my image with some fun patterned paper from October Afternoon's Boarding Pass line.

Here is a close up of the "cracked glass":
Winners of the free stamp sets from the Deasy Designs launch party giveaway were announced Saturday.  Check out the Deasy Designs blog to see if you are one of them!

Paper Smooches Sparks Designer Drafts Challenge

Welcome! It's time for another Paper Smooches Sparks Designer Drafts Challenge
Here is the awesome sketch we are working with this week:
I think the curved part of the sketch is a super fun element.  I used Spiffy Scooters (scooter and sentiment) and Spring Groves (trees) to create the little scene below.  It wasn't until I was finished with the card that I realized the curved part of my card looks kinda like the side view mirror on a car with the little scooter coming up behind in it's reflection.  I finished up my card with some fun polka dot paper and a few adhesive rhinestones.

We would love to have you play along with us and see what you come up with using this sketch.  If you would like to enter the Designer Drafts challenge, check out the Paper Smooches Sparks blog!  The winner gets a $30 gift certificate to the Paper Smooches online store!!  Also, don't forget to check out the fabulous projects from the other Sparks design team members:

Deasy Designs Showcase Week-Our Heroes

Welcome back, Deasy fans!  We are so excited that you love the new Deasy Designs line as much as we do!  This week is Showcase Week for Deasy Designs and it is my turn to showcase the new Our Heroes stamp set.  I love playing with this sweet, patriotic set.  There are so many fun elements that can be mixed an matched to make the perfect card for your hero!
For my card I chose to use all three of the soldiers in the set.  I love how they look all lined up together underneath the flag!  One thing I really love about this set is that it is perfect for making cards for those people in our lives who serve in the military.  I am so thankful for all those who have served our country and for those who continue to serve and defend our freedoms!  I feel so blessed to live in the United States of America and to be able to enjoy the many freedoms and opportunities that this country offers.  I think it is important to let those who serve/have served know how much we appreciate them.

That's it for me today.  Head on over to the Deasy Designs blog and check out some of the other cards the design team has made with this set.  Don't forget to continue to check back throughout the week, too, as Showcase Week continues on the Deasy Designs blog!  Thanks for stopping by today!
