Pinspired Challenge #9

It's time for another Pinspired challenge! For this challenge, we are working with the gorgeous party pin shown above.  Our sponsor this month is Avery Elle and the prize is a $15 gift certificate to their online store!

Avery Elle offers a variety of clear stamp sets and matching (FREE!) .pdf and .svg cut files!  They also have a few free digital images offered on their blog.  I used one of their free digital images and  printed it out on vellum.  I added a few gold sequins and adhered the vellum to some dark pink cardstock.  To get the gold edge on the pink cardstock, I used my Versamarker watermark pen and drew a line around the edge of the cardstock and embossed the edge with gold embossing powder.  I finished off the card with a pink ribbon layered with a sheer gold ribbon.  Now I have a simple, yet fun and festive card perfect for a birthday!

Pinspired Challenge Blog
Pinspired Challenges was created by a group of girls that LOVE Pinterest and crafting.... We came up with the idea of the challenge in the latter part of 2012 and the challengeslaunched in January of 2013. Our DT, or as we like to call them, "Pin Heads" have scoured Pinterest to bring you some amazing inspirational pins. We will post a brand new challenge on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month. You will have until Thursday of the following week to link your entry onto the challenge post. That's 9 whole days to play along!!!! Inspirational photos are for you to interpret anyway you want. You can take from the colors, the style or the technique - whatever floats your boat! You can also feel free to make any kind of craft you want as well, whether its a card, layout or altered item.

Using the image above as inspiration, create a new project and post it using InLinkz on the Pinspired Blog. I used the Magnolia stamp from Sheena's A Little Bit Floral collection.  Since the inspiration photo features mostly pastel colors, I chose to use pastels on my Magnolia bloom.  To get the soft pastel look, I embossed the flower with white embossing powder then colored it in using watercolor paints. I like that when a flower comes in stamp form, it can be any color you choose!  All of the flowers in Sheena's A Little Bit Floral collection are beautiful and the possibilities are endless!

Pinspired Challenge #8

 Welcome back for Pinspired Challenge #8!  I love the pin we are working with for this challenge!  I loved it so much, that I recreated it on a tag for a wedding gift!  This was my first try at making a bokeh background, but it will not be the last!  It is my new favorite technique! I also made a gift bag out of cardstock and ribbon to go with the tag and then stuffed it the some tissue paper flowers instead of just regular tissue paper. I think it looks a little more festive for the occasion!

Here is what I made using some of their fabulous twine:

I used Timeless Twine's firecracker twine and I love it!  Aqua and red are perfect together!  I paired it with the postcard stamp from Lawn Fawn's You've Got Mail set and added the sun, clouds, and raindrops from some of their other stamp sets.

PInspired Challenge #6

It's time for another Pinspired Challenge!  I love the pin we are working with this week.  Glitter and ombre...perfect! I made something a little different this time.  Instead of a card, I made a treat box.   The lemonade stand image is from Paper Sweeties (our sponsor for this challenge), and I paired it with Lawn Fawn's Make Lemonade set. I did an ombre effect on the glass of lemonade and the awning of the stand with my Copic markers.  I then used some Frosted Lace Stickles to add some sparkle. The paper lining the inside of the box is from the Studio Calico Sundrifter line. It is actually velum and the stripes are ombre, too!

I filled the treat box with some Lemonhead candy and even though you can't see it in the picture, there is also a packet of pink lemonade in there.

TAWS Stampy Sunday Link Party + Be Inspired #24

The Alley Way Stamps is hosting a link party today on  their blog.  All you have to do is make a new card using a TAWS set, mention their party, and link back to their blog.  The winner gets 2 free stamp sets of their choice...sounds good to me!!  You still have a few hours to play along, but the party ends at midnight.

I used the TAWS set called Admit One.  Admit One is a cute set with lots of fun, circus themed images!  I paired the clown from the set with some  Echo Park Summer Days patterned paper.  I love the bright patterns included in this line and I think they go perfectly with the playfulness of this stamp set!

Pinspired Challenge #5

 Good morning!  Today marks the beginning of our fifth challenge over at Pinspired Challenges.  Here is the pin we are working with for this challenge:

I love the colors and shapes on this quilt, so I made a colorful card and used this patterned circle stamp from October Afternoon (Admit One) to make a birthday pie chart!  All of the alpha and word stickers are from OA as well.
