Sweet Dreams

The current Lawnscaping Challenge is to stamp a scene.

I feel like I have been prepping for this card for a week. I have been stamping, coloring, and cutting for several days. Finally, today it all came together. I made a counting sheep card using the sheep and fence from Critters on the farm. I stamped the numbers on them using Claire's ABC's. The stars are from Plus One and the moon is from Happy Haunting. I was going to use Claire's ABC's to stamp the sentiment "sweet dreams", but it was too large for the card. Then, I happened to remember the "may all your dreams come true" sentiment from Critters Ever After and decided to use that one instead.

Sometimes cards don't turn out like we envision them in our minds, but I am very happy with how this one turned out. It ended up exactly as I had planned. Thank you for stopping by today. If you would like to play along, head on over to the Lawnscaping blog!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

This photo was actually for a challenge back in January, but I really like the rainbow colors and they are perfect for the project I made today.

When I first saw the little worm in the Smarty Pants set, I imagined him as the very hungry caterpillar from Eric Carle's book. It worked out perfectly that I also had several Paper Smooches stamp sets that contained fruit images. I used the apple from Smarty Pants, the orange and strawberry from Wake Up and the cherry and circles (grapes in my imagination) from Sugar Rush. For the sentiment, I used Alphadot and Wake Up.

Since I was working with an idea inspired by a book, I decided to make a bookmark rather than a card.

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge

The newest Paper Smooches Sparks challenge went up today and would you look at the inspirational photo Kim chose!

Aren't the colors in this photo fabulous?! I immediately thought of a rainbow and this is what I came up with:

I used my brand new set Eco Friendly and added the cute little face to the sun using Spring Fling. Super simple card, but hopefully it will brighten someone's day! Thanks for stopping by today!

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge

Here is the inspiration piece that Kim found on Pinterest for the current Sparks challenge:

I chose to use the color scheme as inspiration for my card. I used the milk shake image from Sugar Rush and added the cherry on top. I used Liquid Applique to give the ice cream some texture and added a dark red adhesive pearl for the cherry. Last, I stamped the straw again, cut it out and popped it up with foam adhesive.

Here is what I made using Paper Smooches Sugar Rush stamp set:

I used the color and the shape of the bracelets as my inspiration. The cup and straw are paper pieced using Echo Park's Summer Days line (the background paper is also from the same line). I made the little bubbles in the cup using Frosted Lace Stickles.

Lawnscaping Challenge #31-coloring

The current Lawnscaping Challenge is to incorporate coloring into a project. This could include copics, pencils, crayons, inks, etc.

I chose to use my Copics, but before I show you my card, I want to show you my inspiration. I saw this cute little stamp by Imaginisce and thought the sand castle stamp was a fun idea.

So, I decided to use my Lawn Fawn castle (from Critters Ever After) and make it into a sand castle! While I think this is a fun princess castle image, I might just like it even better as a sand castle!

For my spring card, I chose to make an "April showers bring May flowers" card. Here it is:


I used several Lawn Fawn stamp sets for this card. I used the postcard from You've Got Mail, the fence and lamb (made into a cloud) from Critters on the Farm, the moon (used as the sun) from Happy Haunting, the flash lines from Say Cheese for the sun's rays, and I used the raindrops, grass, tulips, and bee from the Gnome Sweet Gnome set . The bee might just be my favorite element of the card. I stamped him on some shrinky dink paper and shrunk down with my heat gun-now he is the perfect size for my card! (The sentiment is Papertrey Ink and the patterned paper is by October Afternoon.)
