CPS 155

I have been looking at the CPS #155 sketch all week and I could not decide what I wanted to do. I knew I was running out of time, so tonight I started looking through my supplies and as soon as I saw that chipboard flower from Cosmo Cricket, inspiration hit. I made this card in about 10 minutes. As a matter of fact, I think it took me longer to get a good photo of the card than to actually make it! I like that it turned out simple, yet bold. Now I think I need a big bold sentiment for the inside.

Bellariffic Friday Challenge

This weeks challenge was to make a card with an Olympic/Winter sport theme. I didn't have a bella with an olympic/winter sport theme, so I used my snowbunnybella and gave her a gold medal. I added fun flock to her coat and some glitter under her boots. There is an epoxy snowflake just to left of Bella's head, but it doesn't really show up in the photo. I don't know why it looks like there is so much shadow around the stamped image, either. Anyway, to fit the challenge, I decided this is Bella just after she won gold in her downhill ski event. Doesn't she look warm and cozy and ready to enjoy the rest of the Olympic events? I know I have certainly enjoyed watching the Olympics. I think my favorite winter sports to watch are ice skating and snowboarding. How about you?

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Yay! This is my first time to participate in a Papertrey blog hop. I am always inspired by the Papertrey team, so tonight's challenge was alot of fun. The hard part was choosing exactly which project to highlight. I chose Debbie Olson as my inspiration because I feel she always delivers! I have actually purchased stamp sets before (that I wasn't sure about) because of things I saw Debbie do with them.

As a matter of fact, I was so inspired that I did two different cards because I couldn't decide which way I wanted to go with the design. The bright colors on these cards also remind me of one of my other favorite designers Betsy Veldman. :)Here are my cards:

ETA: In my excitement, I forgot to list supplies.
For the first card, I used Papertrey Ink stamps, ribbon, cardstock and ink, Cosmo Cricket patterned paper, Ranger dye ink (stream), and self-adhesive pearls by Prima. I also used some shimmerz paint in Pixie Dust on the icing.

For the second card, I used Papertrey Ink stamps, ribbon, ink, and cardstock and Cosmo Cricket patterned paper.

Cool Kid

This week's challenge on the Cosmo Cricket blog was to face your fears...do something that intimidates you. Well, the part of scrapbooking that intimidates me is the beginning. I have a hard time coming up with a sketch or deciding where to start. That is why I like when the sketch is given to me-I just pull out the supplies I want and "paint by number". So, for this challenge, I didn't go find a sketch and just tried to go with the flow. I changed this layout in my head a few times and then again as I was putting it together. I added and removed stickers a few times and finally decided it was done.

This page is about my son and how he is growing up and finding his own style. He likes his hair in a certain hairstyle and is starting to enjoy clothes shopping. He enjoys looking nice and I am impressed with his style!

This is an 8x8 layout. The picture makes the page look warped, but I couldn't get a picture head on because I kept getting a glare on the photo. Any tips? The solid cardstock is by Papertrey Ink. All other products (patterned paper, stickers, rub ons, chipboard letters and pieces) are Cosmo Cricket.

Eat Cake

Today's card uses PTI's Cupcake Collection stamp set. I knew I wanted the icing to be white, so I stamped the images on kraft cardstock and then added the little epoxy stickers to look like sprinkles. The patterned paper is by Heidi Grace (I think the name of the line is Valentine's Day). Once I put the card together, it felt like something was missing, so I added the little white loopy image in each corner from PTI's Boarders and Corners Squares set.

Life is Good

Today's card is another Bella. I made this card a long time ago and I finally put it in my Flickr gallery last week. I like the cheery colors of this card and I love that Prima flower. The patterned paper is October Afternoon.

Bellariffic color challenge

For today's card I played along with the Bellariffic Friday color challenge. I used Cosmo Cricket Material Girl patterned paper and the image is ,of course, from Stamping Bella. I thought this might be a fun card to give to a friend who enjoys sewing. The sentiment on the inside says "I'm a material girl".
