CPS 159

I forgot to post my card for the CPS 159 sketch, and I thought I was already out of time, but you can still play along until 8pm CST tonight. For this sketch I decided to finally use my Cosmo Cricket Joyride supplies. I paired the Joyride with Stampin Up's Sahara Sand Cardstock and some colored pearls I found at Michael's. This was a quick and easy "scrappy" card-no stamping involved.

PTI March Blog Hop

This month's PTI blog hop is all about buttons! I absolutely love all of PTI's button bits sets and their colorful packages of buttons. I chose to use the Blooming Button Bits stamp set for my card . Of course, I had to use my new Hawaiian Shores ribbon and button. It is such a beautiful color. I decided on this color scheme because when I went to pick out buttons, the Hibiscus Burst, Orange Zest, and Hawaiian Shores packages were laying side by side and looked so pretty next to each other. It is definitely a color scheme I will use again. I really like the bright, cheerful look of this card and I think it turned out nice and simple. Poppy Seed Challenge #2

For the second Poppy Seed challenge, participants are asked to use at least one button, something light moss green, and polka dots on their card. Here is the card I created using Wonderfully Whimsical by Papertrey Ink. It is such a fun set to work with. I am really enjoying all the elements of this set and how they all work together to create cute little scenes. It doesn't show up very well in the photo, but I used Versamark Dazzle ink and Polka Dot Basics to stamp on the red layer.(click photo to enlarge)

Hawaiian Shores/ Bermuda Bay comparison

Here is my comparison of the Hawaiian Shores line (by Papertrey Ink) and Bermuda Bay (by Stampin Up). The HS ink doesn't really match the HS paper in my opinion. The ink cube is more blue where as the paper is more green. I have smooshed my HS ink cube as suggested, but it is still too blue. I guess I should say MY ink cube doesn't match very well-I know others on the PTI forum are having better luck. To me, Hawaiian Shores and Bermuda Bay look like the same "color", one is just a few shades darker than the other. So, the bermuda bay ink will match the HS cardstock, but it is just a little darker. The HS ribbon looks fabulous with both the HS cardstock and the Bermuda Bay cardstock. I will continue to smoosh the cube and test it to see if it improves. I do have to say that even though my HS ink cube is not the same color as my cardstock, it is a nice shade of blue which I will still use, just with a different cardstock. I absolutely love PTI and appreciate all their hard work to make their customers happy. I enjoy having so many fun colors to work with from both Papertrey and Stampin Up. Sorry about the dark photos, but it is overcast here today.

So Happy

I have been playing with my Papertrey butterfly die again and came up with this little card. I paired the butterfly with a flourish from Fancy Flourishes and a sentiment from Scattered Showers. I used Cosmo Cricket patterned paper and added the little red pearls that I found at Michael's.

Precious friends

Wow, it's been awhile. We had Spring Break last week and I just couldn't get into a crafty mood. Today's card uses a combination of Stampin Up and Papertrey Ink products. The cardstock (brown and cream)and stamps are by Papertrey and everything else is by Stampin Up. I really like how the felt flowes work so well with the
Blooming Button Bits stamp set. The felt flowers can be found in Stampin Up's current mini catalog. I can't wait to get felt in all the PTI colors so I can make my own felt flowers! Hope you are enjoying your day!

Butterfly CPS sketch 157

ETA:This card was sitting on my desk and I kept feeling like something was missing...so, I went back and added the white layer under the main panel. I definitely like it better this way. It looks more finished to me.



CPS sketch 157 was the inspiration for this card. When I first saw the sketch I knew that I wanted to use Papertrey's new butterfly die in place of the circles. I love this butterfly die!! I cut out 4 butterflies in different colors, layering the pink ones, and added the little silver studs down the middle. I adhered the butterflies to my card using Ranger glossy accents. The grass is a new Martha Stewart punch that I almost didn't purchase. I am so glad that I did. The other fun thing about this card that doesn't show up in the picture is the shimmery background. I used a Versamark Dazzle pad to stamp the background polka dots. It adds just a hint of shimmer. This was a fun card to make and I think I will be using that butterfly die ALOT! All stamps are by Papertrey Ink.
